Referee Pathway
Recreational Referees
Ages 11-17
This program provides SSFC players the opportunity to build leadership and communication skills as they learn to become referees during Intermediate 7v7 and Junior Passers 4v4 games.
Advanced League Referees
Ages 13 and up
The next step for SSFC players who have gained experience as referees at the recreational Intermediate games is to complete the US Soccer online referee course. These referees will be mentored at SSFC 9v9 games, first as Assistant Referees and after 10 games (age 14 and up) as center referees.
Adult League Referees
Referees ages 18 and up
Those referees who have gained extensive experience during youth games will have the opportunity to officiate Adult games in the summer and winter leagues.
Recreational Referees will be assigned to games at the Summit Middle School on Saturdays during the Fall and Spring Seasons.
Please read the rules on the Recreational Coaching page. Referees will be given instructions and will be mentored throughout the season. A whistle will be provided to each referee. Please wear the SSFC Training Jersey.
Advanced League Referees must complete the Colorado Soccer Online Referee Course prior to being assigned as an assistant referee for 9v9 games at the Kingdom Park Fields.
The cost for the course will be refunded and each referee will receive an official referee shirt.
Adult League Referees will be invited to join the adult referee pool and may be assigned as center or ARs for the Summer League or as centers for the Winter Leagues.
